Several small, self sufficient towns are actually lighter on the fps than a massive city. The only thing it cant render without unlocking a tile is the tunnels, and that only affects maps created with the mod for tunnels in the mapeditor. The game caIculates and renders thé entire map át all times, regardIess of how mány tiles are unIocked.
